Obituary

Agnes "Aggie" E. (Fredericks) Leffler, 86, of Pottsville, passed away on November 26, at Providence Place surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Pottsville, on September 6, 1938, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Helen (Devine) Fredericks.

She was a 1956 graduate of Nativity BVM High School.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

Over her 40-year career with Acme Markets, she worked at the Arch Street, Plaza, and Hazleton locations. In retirement, she worked as a door attendant at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home.

Agnes always enjoyed keeping a clean house and cooking. Some of her favorite dishes to made were halupkis, coleslaw, pepper cabbage, and famous "nanny" noodles. She loved making desserts to share with friends, especially her legendary peanut butter cups and her famous strawberry and peach pies.

She was always up for a road trip with family or friends to go shopping, see a show or visit family. She enjoyed collecting antiques.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Leffler, who passed away on June 13, 1987.

Surviving are her two loving sons, Edward J. and his wife, Joanne and Brian D. and his wife, Victoria, five loving grandchildren, Ashley Porter and her husband, Lyle, Angela Siminitus and her husband, Edward, Kaitlin Leffler, Gage Leffler and Sloane Leffler, one great grandchild, Paige Siminitus, two brothers, John "Jack" Fredericks and his wife, Mildred, and Lawrence "Butch" Fredericks, two nephews and three nieces and sister-in-law, Karen Alban.

A viewing will be held on Monday, December 9th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m. at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market Street, Pottsville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 10th at 10 :00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 913 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, with the Rev. Kevin Bobbin.  A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.  Interment will be private at St. Patrick's #3 Cemetery, Pottsville.
