Jean T. Reddington, 96, a lifelong resident of Pottsville, passed away on Saturday, April 20th, 2024.
Jean was born in Pottsville on September 22, 1927, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth (Canfield) Reddington. She was a 1946 graduate of the Pottsville high school and was employed for 28 years in the tax claim bureau for Schuylkill County, retiring in 1988. She then worked part time for five years in the Minersville office of Harry Ebling & Associates, ending in 1994.
Jean was a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Church, where she served as past secretary and treasurer of the Ladies Guild. She was presently a member of St. Patrick's Church in Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her siblings, Frances Reddington Margle, Catherine Farrell, Rita McCaffrey, Elizabeth Reddington, Ellen Martin, the Rev. Benjamin Reddington, James Reddington, John Reddington and Thomas Reddington.
Jean is survived by her sister, Ann DeAngeles along with several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 319 Mahantango Street, Pottsville at 11 AM on Friday, April 26th, 2024. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church begining at 10:45 AM. Jean will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, immediately following mass.
